Scope of application

With a thermoplastic polymer as the outer shell, the liquid low-boiling hydrocarbon compound inside becomes a gas when heated, and expands due to the pressure generated by the gas. The uniform expansion effect enables the product to additionally exhibit three-dimensional, lightweight, heat insulation, buffering and other characteristics.

Unexpanded foamed material

The thermoplastic resin of the outer shell begins to soften after heating. The internal liquid low-boiling hydrocarbons become gas, and the capsule expands due to the pressure generated by the gas. When the internal pressure and the polymer tension of the shell are balanced with the external pressure, the expansion will be maintained. As the heating continues, the shell becomes thinner, and the pressure is increased due to the diffusion of gas. The shell is very soft and usually won't crack.

Expanded microcapsules can be added directly into the material, and it's lighter than the previous filler.
